About the Organisation
This not-for-profit organisation is active in the areas of anti-trafficking, education and mental health in developing countries. It operates on the cusp between philanthropy and impact investment, with a bold vision for change.
The Opportunity
The organisation is now seeking to appoint its first lawyer. The way in which the organisation is funded is quite complex and it will be the responsibility of the lawyer to negotiate and manage funding and partnership agreements. You will also lead on a variety of other governance and compliance matters, including building out the legal function for the organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders, including the Chief Executive, in furthering the work and effectiveness of the organisation.
The position can either be full-time or part-time (4 days.) There are no mandated days in the office, it will be up to you to be where you need to be and when.
About You
The position will best suit an individual with experience of complex commercial agreements, or perhaps a corporate/commercial background. Knowledge of social finance would be highly regarded. You must also be prepared to establish new compliance regimes and run legal training for the wider organisation. Strong relationship development skills will be key.
A demonstrated interest in the not-for-profit sector is essential with any experience in governance also being highly regarded.
This is a unique opportunity to take the lead role in a very interesting not-for-profit organisation and be part of something which really makes a difference.
