About the Organisation
This organisation is a leader in its space and is very much at the forefront of innovation, technology transfers and investing in science and early stage drugs in order to make an impact on fighting disease. As a non-profit organisation, the focus is truly on improving the lives of patients and making a long-term difference to medical treatment and healthcare.
The Opportunity
The organisation now has a need to appoint a Head of Legal. The organisation has had recent success in the commercialisation of research and is in a fortunate position of having funds to re-invest. The Head of Legal will have responsibility for managing the legal team as well as working closely with senior levels across the organisation in implementing and operationalising strategy. In addition, you will also lead the team in providing licensing support in the exploitation of research assets and technology transfers. You will ensure the organisation is supported on a wide range of matters specifically focusing on the research, development and commercialisation of new and ongoing research.
About You
This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative, forward-thinking science-focussed organisation with an excellent reputation and keen dedication to its cause. The organisation is in a unique position of being able to invest in research which may otherwise go without investment from pharma and biotech companies. The ideal candidate will have life sciences experience as well as knowledge of how to commercialise IP and the licensing of assets within a life sciences context. Management experience is key, with at least a degree of demonstrated management experience and a desire to lead a team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading organisation at a time of key investment for the organisation in this newly created Head of Legal role. You will work closely with the organisation and as a result, a personable approach and the ability to work with people at all levels is essential.
The opportunity offers a competitive remuneration package, a hybrid working lifestyle and the opportunity to provide dedicated legal support to early stage medical research.
