About the Opportunity
It’s rare for a consumer business to need an in-house M&A lawyer – this position is the exception. The role will be responsible for corporate transactions, negotiating and leading on M&A activity and reporting to senior management on the progress of M&A matters. You will also handle corporate governance matters and work closely with other pillars across the business, including areas of strategy, innovation, investor relations and tax.
This company has a track record of moving its lawyers into other legal roles – should you ever with to move into a new aware which wasn’t M&A, this business would be supportive.
About You
A strong M&A background is key, with a commercial approach and the ability to provide practical legal advice also being essential. Fundamental is an ability to provide strong technical support yet work closely with the business, advising in a non-legal way. This role has exposure to senior management and the Board and as a result, the ability to engage with the business will also be key. You will be part of a large legal team although somewhat autonomous as a specialist M&A lawyer – knowing when to perhaps seek support or assistance would be useful.
